Job Description

The Housing Application Solution Architect will act as the design authority for the deployment of the NEC Housing Management Solution in the Housing Sector and Registered Social Landlord markets in the UK and selected additional geographies. 

Working with the sales and pre-sales team the Housing Application Solution Architect will ensure that all significant opportunities benefit from a solution blueprint agreed with our product, development and delivery teams.

Working with product, development and delivery colleagues the Housing Application Solution Architect will be responsible for detailed solution design and agreed delivery plans to best address customer requirements.

Working with end customers the Housing Application Solution Architect will ensure that our solution blueprint and agreed delivery plans are fully articulated and understood at project commencement. The Housing Application Solution Architect will have responsibility for ensuring that customer projects remain referenced to the solution blueprint throughout the project and will assist the project manager in managing / controlling project scope.

The NEC Housing Application Solution Architect will:-

  • Support the sales team in identifying, qualifying and quantifying sales opportunities with a view to ensuring our proposed solutions represent ‘best fit’ to customer requirements.
  • Provide expert solution input to ensure propositions provide best value for our customers whilst enabling NEC to gain competitive advantage.
  • Provide detailed knowledge, product and technical input into customer bid & quote documents (RFP, ITT etc) and ensure consistency of approach from all contributors and that the overall solution is cohesive.
  • Provide leadership and support to the sales / presales team during the procurement process including presales demonstrations.
  • Work with application and delivery teams to define customer solutions based on appropriate combinations of NEC intellectual property and appropriate third party solutions.
  • Ensure propositions are well understood, documented and articulated both internally and externally and in a manner that removes ambiguity from the delivery phase of customer projects.
  • Support project managers (and potentially customers), throughout the delivery process, to ensure mutual project success aligned to customers business objectives and NEC commercial considerations. Achieve a billable target of 50%.
  • Demonstrate ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
  • Stay abreast of NEC product developments and provide input into future direction.
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes and sector best practice and advise colleagues and customers of impact on their solutions and how best to extract additional business value.
  • Sign off on all Housing bids (through the NEC CREM process) as well as customer Quotes.




  • Extensive product and strong technical knowledge coupled with implementation experience of a Housing Management Solution / Platform.
  • Strong Housing architecture knowledge with experience in providing product solutions based on the Housing platform components eg HMS, Contractors, Assets, Digital, CRM, CBL, Mobile, Reporting etc.
  • Sound knowledge of 4th generation technologies including, AI, Digital, IoT, Machine Learning, AR and Automation 
  • Expert stakeholder management skills to secure and maintain external and internal commitment to successful project delivery
  • Sound knowledge of related platforms and products typically deployed within the Housing Sector and Registered Social Landlord 
  • Broad knowledge of the Housing Sector and Registered Social Landlord markets and the challenges faced by customers and prospects.
  • Excellent communication skills with significant experience of customer engagement / customer management at all levels including senior management / director levels.

  • Provide requirements feedback into Product Roadmap
  • Work with Head of Housing Product to agree / plan / prioritize sales driven roadmap requirements
  • Work with existing partner customers as a design authority
  • Work with the Digital Platform Solutions Architect to define requirements  


  • Exposure to and/or experience of structured project management methodologies such as PRINCE2
