Job Description

Our client, based in Merseyside, is currently recruiting for an ICT Project Implementation – Manager on a permanent basis. Our client is proud to have won the HR Excellence Award for Best Employee Engagement Strategy and hold reputable accreditations.


The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The annual salary is £37,870 - £45,600 based on experience for this position.


The ideal candidate will have experience as a manager or team leader of an ICT team, including responsibility for the team’s work package delivery and successful IT projects, both within agreed SLAs and other agreed timescales.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for acting as the lead ICT representative on Group projects which require ICT input
  • The holder is accountable for day to day operations of resourcing, scheduling, prioritisation and task coordination to ensure that project milestones, objectives and deliverables are met within agreed timescales and budgets
  • This role is responsible for the line management of a small team of ICT Project Implementation Analysts
  • As well as the ICT Project and broader team, the holder is required to interact on a regular basis with leaders and teams across all levels and functional areas of the Group in the provision of support for ICT related projects from inception through to go-live
  • External to the Group, the role holder is required to interact with external service providers to ensure the most effective and efficient service provision
  • Deliver and manage projects and programmes based on agreed priorities for business, IT systems and service requirements and, where required, recommend appropriate solutions and prepare specifications required for those solutions
  • Apply the agreed in house project management framework for each project (using relevant project standards where relevant) in order to ensure that projects are defined, developed, governed and managed in a consistent manner across the Group
  • Manage the work and priorities of the ICT resources throughout the project lifecycle, defining appropriate products, standards and timescales in accordance with the agreed in-house project management framework, ensuring that the project delivers quality products to time and within budget
  • Manage the preparation and updating of all project documentation ensuring compliance with the agreed project and programme governance arrangements using the agreed in-house project management framework, guidance and associated templates


Experience required:

  • Degree or equivalent in computer science or a related subject with a significant component of IT
  • Working constructively directly with IT staff in software package vendors and ICT support providers
  • Understanding of project management methodologies such as Prince 2 and Agile
  • Reporting to / working with senior management teams and/or Boards or Committees
  • Change management


Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to have effective, proactive two-way flow of jargon-fee communication with all system users and other stakeholders, including non-technical audiences
  • Ability to keep abreast of all relevant ICT developments to enable continuous improvement delivery
  • Ability to lead and develop teams and a range of services


Day 1

  • Ability to work hours flexibly in line with business needs (with collaborative working hours between 10am and 3pm) – requirement to work a minimum of 1 day per week from the office

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
