Come help us make our vision a reality across the  9,500 homes we manage amongst other things in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

Based in our Mountsorrell office, you will be assigned your own patch of properties and be responsible for collecting rental income from across our tenures.

Your duties will include but but will not be limited to:

  • Accountable for all rent accounts from credit balances through to high level arrears including sundry debts (recharges, injunction and court costs etc).
  • Supporting customers maximise their income, signposting internally and externally in relation to debt advice and support, and making use of eviction prevention options.
  • Recommend court action and evictions for approval, in line with Equality Act requirements and tenancy sustainment principles.
  • Prepare high arrears cases for court, in line with legal requirements. Represent NCHA at possession hearings and attend evictions as required.
  • Provide comprehensive advice and assistance to customers about appropriate banking and budgeting arrangements, welfare benefits, changes to benefit rules and regulation, verifying UC claims via landlord portal and liaising with the DWP about Universal Credit claims.
  • Develop and maintain an on-going and effective dialogue with customers, using communication methods that meet their needs, always ensuring support needs are responded to.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with debt advice agencies, the DWP, County Courts and Housing Benefit teams.
  • Ensuring patch performance supports NCHA’s overall current and Universal Credit arrears targets.

This is a permanent 35 hours per week Monday to Friday position. As the role will involve some travel, you will be paid 45p per mile for mileage expenses; for which  you will need to have business insurance.
