Media & Communications Officer

A respected public sector organisation are looking for an experienced Media Officer to manage their digital channels and help promote their brand in an engaging and informative manner. This is a majority remote working role which requires one day every fortnight in a London office.

The key purpose of the role is to deliver a full range of creative communications and PR campaigns to support the organisation's mission and values. You will also be required to design and deliver day to day communications activity to support the evolution of the organisation’s external positioning. This will include researching and writing news stories, features, and opinion pieces as well as managing social media and maintaining the company's news feed on their website.

Essential:

• Working knowledge of the UK media and how to secure media coverage including print, broadcast, digital media, and social networking
• Proven experience in a role that includes media relations
• Strong writing skills
• Social media channel administration
• Marketing of products & services
• Excellent communication skills
• CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations), PRCA (Public Relations & Communications Association) or NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) certification would be highly desirable
