Job Description

We're on the lookout for a System Analyst to be based on a Hybrid Basis in our Hemel Hempstead office working within a team that focuses heavily on developing, supporting and maintaining our NEC web-based Housing Management product suite. Our products are some of the leading applications in the Local Government and Housing Sector - so this is a great opportunity to be working really closely with it!

The successful candidate will be required to: 

  • Understand Complex business requirements 
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with the Product Management team to agree the final business requirement. 
  • Work with a technical architect to agree a technical solution for the requirement 
  • Excellent data and function modelling (ERD and FHD) 
  • Logical database design 
  • Impact analysis and change control specification 
  • Analysis workshop facilitation 
  • Work closely with the team of system analysts to produce consistent designs 
  • Estimation of work and management of own workload 
  • Produce detailed high-quality specifications for UI (User Interface) and rest Api developers 
  • Support the development and test team with prompt clarifications 
  • Impact analysis and change control specification 
  • Testing to ensure build meets functional specifications 
  • Support the developed software within agreed service level targets and quality objectives 
  • Work effectively in the team 
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and inspiration to other members of the team. 
  • Promptly escalate issues which cause personal or team development to fall outside of agreed quality or timescale tolerances and to actively contribute to their resolution. 
  • Pro-actively suggest and implement agreed process improvements that enhance the performance, productivity. 
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes that enhance the performance and quality of personal and team deliverables. 

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience working on projects in an agile methodology 
  • Experience working with Mobile Technologies (preferably Ionic Framework) 
  • Ability to write understandable, well-formatted specifications to be developed in a SaaS mobile system utilising a PostgreSQL database, Springboot Java Rest Api’s and UI developed in Angular and Ionic
  • Experience of specifying systems utilising Ionic, Angular and Springboot Java 
  • Strong Experience with SQL including the ability to both read and understand it
  • Able to perform root cause analysis of problems and identify a solution to the problem 
  • Strong skills with HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Ability to devise functional solutions to complex business problems
  • Experience writing User Stories, Creating User Journeys or Process Mapping.
  • Strong experience with Analysis and Design of applications

Desirable: 

  • Understanding of Agile Development Tooling
  • Experience of the Housing Sector would be advantageous
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript 
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins) 
  • Experience of working under a formal Quality Management System
