Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Fixed-term Contract)

We’re seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our brilliant Technology & Transformation team on a Fixed-term Contract for 12 months, where you’ll provide critical support across solutions and technologies, with user experience and cyber security at the forefront.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager and working closely with the Infrastructure Architect, you will:

• Support, design and implement infrastructure technologies and solutions
• Provide technical specialist support to project teams
• Maintain the ongoing reliability and performance of embedded infrastructure solutions
• Provide advanced diagnostics and support the resolution of escalated technology incidents.

A key area of focus in this role will be working closely with IT Security colleagues and project teams to understand the relationship between our current infrastructure and cyber security technologies. In particular, reducing risk and maintaining service continuity whilst security solutions are implemented and embedded successfully. 

As you’d expect, our Technology & Transformation team are delivering a range of projects which you can expect to contribute to, from embedding Azure Cloud services to Software adaptations impacting our business critical systems.

In order to maintain visibility with customers and strong working relationships across our organisation, the successful candidate should expect to work 1 day per week from our Birmingham Bath Row office. 

Our ideal candidate? We’re seeking a self-motivated and proactive individual with the following skills and experience:

• Holds a recognised qualification or equivalent experience in one or more of the following areas - Microsoft Server technologies (Windows Server, SQL, Exchange, Active Directory), VMware vSphere, Citrix XenApp, Disaster
• Experience of the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions – experience of this in one or more of the above areas, or Cloud platforms would be of interest to us
• Experience of incident management including diagnosing and prioritising incidents, investigate their causes and finding resolutions
• Good stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally
• Demonstrates a talent for articulating technical information to non-technical colleagues in a clear, jargon-free way.
