This is a fantastic opportunity for a Data Engineer to join our friendly, inclusive and innovative team at Cobalt Housing.
At Cobalt we are making a significant, multi-year investment in our digital platforms to ensure that our systems and digital architecture enable us to deliver our ambitious Corporate Plan and Digital Strategy. As part of this process, we will be undertaking a significant programme of data migration from legacy to new cloud-based systems and developing a new data warehouse amongst a range of other exciting changes. This role is key to ensuring that our data architecture, integrations, quality and reporting is an enabler rather than a blocker to delivery of these plans.
The post holder will be in responsible for transferring raw data from diverse sources into usable information in order to assist the business intelligence department in providing analytics, insights, and reports that will guide decision-making and challenge assumptions. You will work collaboratively and also be given considerable autonomy to drive, design and develop our new data architecture, migrations, strategy and wider plans based on your expertise and experience.
You will also be responsible for keeping up to date with developments in the changing technologies, threats and opportunities across their area of responsibility and for making recommendations where appropriate to the Digital and Transformation, Operations and Executive Management Teams.

The salary for the role of Data Engineer is circa £46,500 per annum. Cobalt’s standard working week is 35 hours Monday to Friday. At Cobalt we work in an agile manner and you can expect to work both at home and in the office based on business needs and our commitment to enabling staff to work flexibly. However, as the team you will be a part of are new and responsible for a significant programme of digital transformation across the organisation and beyond we expect both current and new team members to be in the office for a few days a week as we build the team in order to play their part in driving this change, acting as a face of our new digital strategy and helping build a collaborative, engaging team culture.
