Role: 3rd Line Systems Engineer

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Salary: £34,669-£43,336 per annum (salary offered dependent on experience)

Contract: Permanent

You’ll be joining the Data & Technology team at an exciting time, as we are growing to support Moat’s ambitious priorities and strategy! This is a new role working alongside our team of 3rd line infrastructure engineers and support analysts covering diverse IT operations including networking, security, storage, compute, M365, backups and more. As well as BAU you’ll be assisting in the delivery of new technologies and best practices while being part of some significant projects, with a greater reliance on cloud services. You’ll be using your experience and knowledge to enhance Moat’s Service Desk to best support our userbase, acting as a focal point between 1st, 2nd and 3rd line teams with a real opportunity to make a difference.

We support agile working, so you’ll be provided all IT equipment to work flexibly between your home and at our Dartford office.

Your key tasks will include:

  • Delegating responsibility for technical areas of IT infrastructure and/or application service delivery (e.g., endpoints, telephony, M365).
  • Providing 3rd Line technical support on operating system, software, hardware, and communications issues to users, liaising with colleagues, as appropriate, to ensure a high level of support.
  • Project leading technical developments where required (e.g., remote access).
  • Monitoring, supporting, and administering activities necessary to ensure that all systems are kept operational.
  • Mentoring colleagues, developing their skills and capabilities across 1st & 2nd line support.
  • Acting as a focal point between the Support Desk and Infrastructure team to deliver cohesive support services.

 

We're looking for someone who has:

 

  • At least 3 years’ experience delivering technical end user support.
  • A minimum of 2 years hands-on support of servers and back-office functions in a Windows environment.
  • Experience of using and managing support calls within an ITSM platform
  • Windows Server/Client installation, management, configuration, troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of networking, including WAN, LAN, Switches, WiFi.
  • Strong experience using M365 technologies and admin consoles.
  • An articulate manner in verbal & written communication both technical and non-technical.
