Salary: £74,000 per annum – 2024/25 pay award pending and other great benefits

Basis: Full Time

Type: Permanent

Location: Birmingham, B37 7YN/Hybrid

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Head of Business Solutions to join the ICT Directorate. The purpose of the role is to lead the development of Citizen’s housing management system (ActiveH) and drive an intensive improvement programme across all business systems. You will translate strategic objectives into digital solutions, manage software releases, oversee the systems development roadmap, and liaise with stakeholders and suppliers. This includes managing contracts and preparing budgets.

You will manage a team of around 20 staff, including programme and project managers, technical developers, business analysts, report writers, and IT trainers. This demanding role requires balancing multiple priorities and collaborating with third parties and Citizen’s leadership team to deliver quality business outcomes.

You will report directly to the Director of ICT.

In housing you can make a real difference, the role of Head of Business Solutions will involve:

  • Translating business objectives into effective digital outcomes, through effective programme management
  • Responsibility for Citizen’s Housing Management system (ActiveH) and associated core systems, including the technical change programme and business as usual activities.
  • Driving a continual improvement culture across Citizen
  • Working as an active member of the ICT Directorate, Citizen’s wider leadership team and building long lasting relationships with key stakeholders and partners
  • Driving a continual improvement culture across Citizen

 

As Head of Business Solutions, we need you to have:

  • Experience of working at a leadership level
  • Experience as a lead role in planning, implementing and developing a housing management system, preferably ActiveH
  • Experience of the technical aspects of housing management and supporting systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of the interdependencies of directorates (in the housing sector) and the ability to lead large-scale complex software projects in addressing their overall business requirements.
  • Experience of leading change and managing a programme of improvement activities
  • Good understanding of technology and the operations of an IT department.
  • Knowledge of cyber security, data regulatory and quality requirements for the Housing sector
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or extensive experience
  • Professional technical, managerial or other relevant qualification.
