Job Description

We are really excited about our future data vision and are looking for a unique PowerBI and Insight Specialist to work closely with the Performance Manager and be part of our dynamic Business Intelligence team.

The PowerBI and Insight Specialist will be responsible for developing the further integration of PowerBI, both the production of detailed and comprehensive reports to provide insight supporting the strategic objectives of Lincolnshire Housing Partnership and the road map to guide its wider adoption, creating a scalable solution to address our insight needs.

The PowerBI and Insight Specialist role is flexible under our agile working policy; therefore, you will be able to work from wherever is suitable to complete the task at hand. This might be at home, at one of offices located in Grimsby or Boston, or somewhere else!

What will I be asked to do as a PowerBI and Insight Specialist?

  1. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain various interactive data visualisations and reports, transforming data insights from visualisation and reporting to data storytelling, using creativity and analytical thinking to convert data into actionable, impactful narratives.
  2. Possess knowledge and understanding of data sources, modelling, and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to support with the creation of customer-friendly dashboards designed to meet various business needs.
  3. Use performance reporting to drive improvement, putting in place actionable plans for the operational functions.
  4. Own and drive forward the development of the PowerBI Road Map to support with its further integration at LHP. This is to include infrastructure requirements, day-to-day administration and future planning.
  5. Establish positive working relationships with colleagues across the organisation at all levels and be able to positively influence.
  6. Be able to support in reporting requirements to the Regulator to Social Housing and HouseMark.

What skills, attributes and experience will I need as a PowerBI and Insight Specialist?

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. 
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerBI and Excel skills.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: the ability to dissect composite datasets and identify key data insight using the relevant software.
  • Technical Proficiency: use Power Query for data transformations, DAX expressions for calculations, and creating impactful data visualisations.
  • Data Modelling Mastery: use Power Pivot to model structured data to support efficient analysis and facilitating accurate reporting.
  • Continuous Learning: the ever-evolving data analysis landscape requires the willingness to continuously learn and develop, whether that be through formal training or self-led development.
  • Knowledge and experience of data visualisation techniques.
  • Ability to tell stories with data that is engaging.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organisational, time and project management skills.
  • Experience in the Social Housing sector would be beneficial.
  • Experience of process improvement, such as LEAN Six Sigma.
