Job Description

Relief Domestic Abuse Coordinator - Hub

Worle or/and Yeovil

£10.04 per hour

Permanent, Part Time (relief hours only as required)

Now is an exciting time to join our client, the largest housing association in the South West.

Somerset Integrated Domestic Abuse Service (SIDAS) and Gemini Domestic Abuse Services ( North Somerset) are delivered as part of Supported Housing for our client, who are a leading developer of affordable and social housing in the south west. From the shores of Cornwall to the Gloucestershire hills, they have a vision to build real social change in their region, one front door at a time.

There’s a space in their teams for Relief Hub Staff… are you the right person to fill it?

They are looking for individuals with self resilience, great empathy and a working knowledge of domestic abuse and the impact that has on families, to work within the

their Hubs. This will be at the front end of both services, where referrals are taken and processed initially prior to allocation out to Case Workers.

In both teams, you will be working alongside experienced staff, enabling you to emotionally deal with calls and written referrals which at times can be very traumatizing.

These roles are essential as the first point of contact for some callers who have been brave enough to make that connection, or for professionals seeking guidance and direction to deal with those impacted by domestic abuse.

They work with perpetrators as well as the victims of domestic abuse and they are looking to recruit individuals who have an unbiased approach and are able to give appropriate advice and support.

In this role you will be desk-based and responsible for directly processing the referrals for victims of domestic abuse and their families, prioritising your workload through identified risk reduction and in some cases, assisting callers directly with dealing with the impact of domestic abuse, signposting to services through the coordination of an Individual Support and Safety Plan. They help clients to identify and manage risk using the Safelives DASH risk assessment tool.  You will also work collaboratively with external agencies including social services, drug and alcohol services, Children’s Services, Health and Police etc.

Both Hubs operate between 8am and 8pm so individuals will be expected to work flexibly. They provide IT solutions to enable the role to be fulfilled across both local authorities.

Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check: Please note that appointment would be subject to satisfactory checks through the DBS. Due to the type of position this will be at the enhanced level.
