Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced people manager with a love for innovation, to join our Technology and Innovation Team.

As part of this brand new role, you’ll be leading a team of analysts, who are responsible for business improvement, in-house software development, and third party software implementation and support.

About the Role

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Technology and Innovation, your responsibilities as our Innovation Manager will include: 

  • Leading a team of 8, mentoring and supporting the team to enable them to effectively perform their expected duties.
  • Assisting with the design and implementation of short-term and long-term strategic plans to ensure the organisation maximises its investment in technology.
  • Assisting in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure software-specific products and services.
  • Leading the business improvement process for the delivery of all ICT led projects.
  • Creating and developing operational business process models.
  • Conducting research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures and associated training plans for the implementation, delivery and project management of software solutions.

About you

To be considered for our Innovation Manager role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • You have previous experience line-managing a team.  
  • Broad technical knowledge with experience in researching new technologies and bringing recommendations to the business on appropriate solutions.
  • You are experienced in software development and/or implementation of software into a large organisation.
  • You have the ability and confidence to explain technical matters to non-technical people.  
  • You have the ability to make good decisions, whilst working under pressure.
  • Effective and resilient leadership, creating strong direction, delivering a high performance culture that promotes inclusiveness and effective teamwork.
  • You have the confidence to build and maintain the highest possible standard of internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure effective collaboration and delivery.
