Job Description

Based in Rochdale, this Housing association is looking for a Senior Finance Officer on an Interim basis. This will be a six-month contract paying between £22k – £27k. The role will include a flexible working scheme and some WFH will be offered as well. Part-time hours (29 hours per week) will also be considered.

THE JOB:

This role will support the Capital and Assets Accounting team and report into the Capital and Assets Accountant.

Key aspects

  • Support updating, maintaining, and reconciling to the general ledger and the Housing Fixed Assets Register
  • Assist in providing quarterly reporting to the Security Trustee in relation to charged properties that have been sold, demolished or disposed
  • Asist the processing and reporting in all property/land sales and acquired properties
  • Provision of housing sales forecasting and reporting
  • Carry out audit checks on monthly stock counts
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance and information to the team, the finance team and to budget holders
  • Produce relevant balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist procurement with tender evaluation scoring

THE PERSON:

  • You must be a part qualified Accountant or equivalent, ideally with previous Housing experience, although this is not essential. You must have experience of maintaining financial records and controls and experience of using computerised financial IT systems
  • You will have the natural ability to demonstrate practical experience of providing advice and support on financial issues to a wide range of people at all levels. Experience of working within a Capital and Asset finance team would be advantageous but is not essential
