Woking Borough Council provides a number of essential services to a population of around 100,000 people (approximately 43,000 households) and one of the borough’s defining characteristics is our diverse and multicultural community. 11.6% of our population identifies as Asian or Asian British – 5.7% as Pakistani. Our residents are generally healthy and economically active but inequalities still exist, and balancing the social, environmental and economic needs of the borough is a constant challenge.
Woking is a destination for innovation and growth and we recently completed our £700m town centre regeneration project, making us one of the most exciting and fastest growing destinations in the south east.
